The Lord was never going to let that stand. It does not matter how many people were involved, nor how much money passed hands to hush people, to help people look the other way, to bribe people to take action to help, and money used to hire people to threaten. He was never going to just move on from it. This fraud and theft was to such a scale that it was never seen before and will never be seen again. There maybe places that deal with cheating as is human fallen nature. But not to this scale. God allowed them to do this, so that He can expose them and it. To show the people what has been going on underneath their noses for a long time. Godliness, purity, righteousness does not just happen without efforts, thought, obedience and an active heart – if people don’t work on it they can revert or fall into a trap, into complacency, into the fallen world. There is more to come on all of this. The Lord is not through. His ability to unravel even the best laid plans of men is wondrous. There is nothing hidden from the all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful, all-mighty God.
